The California's Central Valley is known to be one of the most fertile and productive agricultural regions in the world and is an important part of California's economy and history. The issues surrounding the Central Valley are vast and range from poverty, pesticides and drug problems to family farms, industrial agriculture and water rights/use. It is a beautiful stretch of land that spans 400 miles north and south along the inland side of California. I am interested in this area because I feel it is an area that people should know and care more about.
This first series of photos is from the Festa for Our Lady of Miracles, a Portuguese festaval that takes place every year in Gustine, California.
